Michigan's Devin Asiasi transferring out of program

Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan tight end Devin Asiasi is transferring from the Wolverines, head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed to Nick Baumgardner of mlive.com.

The freshman posted just two catches for 18 yards in 2016, but appeared to have a promising career ahead of him in Ann Arbor.

"Yeah, he's moving on, transferring," Harbaugh said. "He leaves in great status. He was doing great in school, doing great in football, really popular and well-liked by his teammates. We wish him well."

Asiasi was a former four-star recruit from the 2016 class and perhaps the California native is looking to transfer closer to home. Before committing to Michigan, he also took visits to UCLA, USC, and Washington.
