Seton Hall's Carrington: Season's a failure if team fails to make NCAA tourney

Sitting 16-9 overall and just 6-7 in conference, Seton Hall is treading awfully close to the point of no return on if it will earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament.

“I would consider it a failure,” junior guard Khadeen Carrington said to Adam Zagoria on if the season ended without a Tournament appearance. “I think we definitely have enough strength, enough players. We’re a good team. I think we definitely are a tournament team and we’re just focused on making this last home stretch a good one and making a run to the NCAA.”

Carrington and the Pirates can do themselves a favor by beating No. 2 Villanova on Saturday, before closing the regular season out with games against Xavier, DePaul, Georgetown, and Butler.

Win those and Seton Hall is looking good at punching their ticket to March Madness, otherwise they will need to repeat its performance from a year ago, where it upset Villanova in the finals of the Big East Conference Tournament.

“I think they’re the best team in the country," Carrington said about the Wildcats. "A win would probably solidify us (for the NCAAs) or open a lot of eyes. Nobody’s really expecting us to win this game so we’re just going to play hard.”
