The Saskatchewan Roughriders continued their roster makeover Wednesday, announcing the free-agent signing of veteran receiver and former CFL MOP Chad Owens.

Terms of the agreement weren't disclosed, but league sources told TSN's Matthew Scianitti it's a two-year deal.

Owens, 34, comes over after spending the 2016 season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He was limited to 12 games because of injury, but still posted 58 receptions for 808 yards and five touchdowns. He played for the Toronto Argonauts from 2010-15, taking home the league's MOP honours in 2012.

"He's still got a lot of good football left in him," Saskatchewan general manager and head coach Chris Jones said after announcing the deal with Owens.

The addition of Owens continues what's been a blockbuster winter for the Riders, who also made a splash on Day 1 of free agency by inking standout offensive lineman Derek Dennis from the Calgary Stampeders.

Saskatchewan went 5-13 last season, missing out on the playoffs for a second straight year.
