Kansas State officially announced former star Collin Klein as the program's new quarterbacks coach Tuesday, a couple of days after it was reported he was returning to the Wildcats.

Klein will replace Del Miller, who announced his retirement Monday after 20 years serving under head coach Bill Snyder at Kansas State.

"Shalin and I are very excited to come back home," Klein said in a statement. "I am thankful to coach Snyder for the opportunity to return to a place that I love while learning and growing under his leadership. I also want to express my thanks to coach Miller, who helped me grow as both a quarterback and a person, and I want to build upon the success he has enjoyed coaching quarterbacks at K-State."

Snyder certainly knows Klein well, as the star quarterback led the team to a 21-5 record in his two seasons as starter in 2011 and 2012. Klein served as a graduate assistant on the Kansas State staff from 2014-15, before coaching at Northern Iowa last season.

"Collin is a great person; caring, loyal, hard-working, responsible, and disciplined," Snyder said. "He will be received well by his peers, players, and support staff, as will his lovely wife Shalin. Collin has a love and passion, not only for football, but even more so for guiding youth toward successful lives."

Klein will work with returning starter Jesse Ertz, whom he knows well from his time as a graduate assistant.
