Thunder miss 24 straight shots in loss to Wizards

Tommy Gilligan / USA TODAY Sports

For a moment, it looked like the Oklahoma City Thunder may never score again.

The Thunder missed 24 consecutive during one stretch in Monday's contest, getting outscored 34-5 by the Washington Wizards. It was the longest drought in the NBA this season, beating the previous mark by nine shots.

Triple-double machine Russell Westbrook was particularly cold, missing all nine of his shot attempts during the drought. He finished the game by going just 5-for-19 from the field.

Surprisingly, the Thunder still managed to score 98 points in the loss, but shot just over 35 percent as a team overall.

It's the second straight blowout defeat for Oklahoma City after losing to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.
