Nuggets match NBA record with 16 threes in 1st half vs. Warriors

Chris Humphreys / USA TODAY Sports

Somebody call the fire department, because the Denver Nuggets are hot.

The team tied an NBA record with 16 made 3-pointers in the first half of Monday's tilt against the league's best team in the Golden State Warriors.

Denver put 79 points on the board in the opening 24 minutes while shooting a ridiculously efficient 70 percent.

The eighth-place Nuggets were somehow able to accomplish this offensive onslaught with just nine players dressed, having six players - including a trio of starters - dealing with various illnesses and injuries.

The Cleveland Cavaliers put up 16 long bombs in a half versus the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this season.
