Report: Many teams consider RB prospect Mixon undraftable

One of the most intriguing stories of the draft is when - or if - Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon will hear his name called.

Mixon has first-round talent, according to some draftniks, but there's a major red flag on his record: a 2014 incident in which he was captured on video punching a woman in the face.

Mixon has said he was goaded by the victim or a member of her party using a racial slur. The victim says Mixon used a gay slur.

An area scout told The MMQB's Albert Breer that Mixon will absolutely be drafted despite his character concerns, saying, "But the guy the Chiefs drafted (Tyreek Hill, who also has an incident of violence against a woman on his record), Joe Mixon isn't half the d-----bag that guy was. You'd have to search to find people that don't like him."

Breer speculates there's a chance that Mixon could be selected before the end of the third round.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has heard different things. Rapoport threw shade at the "anonymous scout," saying he's heard numerous teams don't view Mixon as a draftable prospect.

All it takes is one team willing to overlook a player's red flags to make him draftable. We'll know soon enough how teams truly feel about Mixon's past.
