Carvajal returns to Real Madrid training after overcoming hamstring knock

Real Madrid's injury list continues to shrink.

Dani Carvajal could be available to feature in the starting XI quicker than expected after overcoming a hamstring injury and participating in Tuesday's training session, the team confirmed.

The right-back has not featured since picking up the hamstring injury after Real Madrid's 2-1 defeat to Sevilla on Jan. 21.

He was expected to miss a month, but the Spain international could return earlier if he's included in manager Zinedine Zidane's team sheet ahead of Real's matchup with Osasuna on Saturday.

Carvajal's return to training follows a long parade of players to leave the medical room with a clean bill of health including Marcelo, Luka Modric, Pepe, and James Rodriguez.

Gareth Bale remains the only player in the team's sick bay as he continues his increased efforts to return after picking up an ankle ligament injury in November.

Real Madrid - which had its weekend league match against Celta Vigo postponed due to damage at the Balaídos - will look to retain its place atop the table when the club visits last-place Osasuna.
