Vick: Brady's comeback inspired me to rethink retirement

Like his former foot speed, Michael Vick was quick to rethink his decision to officially retire.

The 36-year-old had announced the end of his career last Friday, but after watching the thrilling classic of Sunday's Super Bowl, Vick is itching to get back out there.

"As soon as I made the announcement, I wanted to come back out of retirement," Vick told TMZ Sports. "Once you make it official, it's a totally different animal."

The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, who still identifies with the team that lost Super Bowl LI, credits watching Tom Brady's record comeback as the source of his reignited fire to play football.

"I'm getting cold feet," said Vick. "Just watching the game last night, Tom Brady really inspired me. The reason is because I know how hard he worked.

"Look, Atlanta had the game but I guy like Tom - it's a testament to how hard he worked, to the leadership, and to the people that surround him and believe in him, and that's what won the game."

Vick said he is enjoying the retired life for now, but he plans to stay in game shape in case the right opportunity comes along to return to the league.

"I'm going to just keep my options open," said Vick. "As of right now, I'm officially retired but what I'm going to do? I'm to continue to work out. I'm going to get myself in tip top shape and just leave the door open.

"I should always be serviceable and accessible, just in case somebody needs me one day."
