Blake Griffin returns vs. 76ers following 18-game absence

Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin made his return in Tuesday's contest versus the Philadelphia 76ers following an 18-game absence with a knee injury, assistant coach Mike Woodson told Dan Gelston of The Associated Press.

The 27-year-old will be on a minutes restriction as he eases his way back into the lineup.

Griffin's return couldn't come at a better time for the Clippers, who will be without All-NBA point guard Chris Paul until March as he recovers from a torn thumb ligament.

The five-time All-Star is in the midst of another strong season for Los Angeles, averaging 21.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and a steal on 48 percent shooting.

The Clippers are hoping Griffin's return will lift them out of their current funk, as they've been playing close to .500 ball since their 10-1 start.
