Erin Andrews diagnosed with cervical cancer last year

FOX NFL sideline reporter and "Dancing with the Stars" host Erin Andrews was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year, she revealed to The MMQB's Emily Kaplan.

Andrews was informed of the news by her doctor before a Week 3 game, worked the contest, and then flew home to undergo surgery in early October.

Two days after surgery, Andrews flew to Green Bay to shoot a feature on Packers wideout Jordy Nelson.

"Should I have been standing for a full game five days after surgery? Let's just say the doctor didn’t recommend that," Andrews told Kaplan. "But just as I felt during my trial, sports were my escape. I needed to be with my crew."

(At a civil trial last year, Andrews was forced to re-live an incident in which nude footage of her shot by a stalker was posted online. Andrews was awarded $55 million.)

Andrews underwent additional surgery on Nov. 1 and just over two weeks later learned the good news: she would not require radiation or chemotherapy.

FOX will broadcast the Super Bowl this year and Andrews will be part of the broadcast.
