USC flips 4-star DT Marlon Tuipulotu from Washington

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The 2017 season doesn't start until September, but USC scored a massive Pac-12 win on Monday, flipping the commitment from four-star defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu from Washington.

"Never thought this day would come, but after talking with my family and prayers with them about this situation, I have decided to decommit from the University of Washington," Tuipulotu wrote on Twitter. "From here, I would like to announce that I am still planning to graduate early and will be attending the University of Southern California."

Tuipulotu, who was committed to the Huskies since April, is ranked as the eighth-best defensive tackle in the class of 2017, and the 109th overall prospect on the ESPN 300. He is also the No. 1 recruit in the state of Oregon.

It's a big pickup for the Trojans as they hope to topple the Pac-12 champion Huskies both on and off the field.
