Colts' Pagano releases statement on Grigson

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano released a statement Saturday, after general manager Ryan Grigson was fired earlier in the day.

The statement reads as follows:

I'm grateful for the opportunity Ryan gave me. We shared many great memories, moments and victories together over the past five years. I wish nothing but the best for Ryan and his family moving forward.

Grigson, who was hired by the Colts in January 2012, brought on Pagano two weeks into his regime.

The Colts have yet to announce their next general manager, but will interview vice president of football operations Jimmy Raye III for the role.
