Chargers won't make immediate changes to uniform after L.A. move

At least one thing will remain the same in the early stages of the Chargers' move to Los Angeles.

Despite some highly scrutinized tinkering with the club's logo, which was later downplayed as a marketing image and then abandoned, the Chargers won't be making any changes to their uniforms for the next two seasons, a team official told Michael Gehlken of The San Diego Union-Tribune.

A redesign could be on the table at some point down the road, as Gehlken's team source indicated the franchise hasn't reached a decision on the matter.

In 2019, when the the Chargers will join the Rams in a new $2.6-billion stadium, changes to the look could make sense with a completely fresh start in mind.

The Chargers will play the 2017 and 2018 seasons in Los Angeles at the StubHub Center, a 30,000-seat stadium that serves as the home of the LA Galaxy.

They'll spend their first year there looking to bounce back from a disappointing final chapter in San Diego, where a 5-11 record saw the club miss out on the playoffs for a third consecutive season.
