Baylor's Motley eats Texas up with career-best performance

Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

Johnathan Motley's last two games have not been pretty, as Baylor's standout junior struggled to score just 15 points combined against West Virginia and Kansas State.

Turns out all he needed was a game against Texas to get back on track.

The 6-foot-10, 230-pound forward went absolute beast mode on the Longhorns on Tuesday, ripping off career-highs of 32 points and 20 rebounds in a 10-point Baylor victory.

Motley was unstoppable throughout the night, connecting on 12 of his 19 shots from the field, and cashing in 8-of-11 from the foul line. His 20 rebounds were just two less than the entire Longhorns starting lineup could muster, and his 32 points were the same as Texas' top-two scorers combined.

Baylor dropped from No. 1 to No. 6 in the latest AP Poll thanks to its 21-point loss at West Virginia, but if Motley is going to keep up this beastly play, the Bears are primed to climb back up the rankings.

Motley has another chance to impose his will this weekend against TCU, but will have to earn it against standout forward Vladimir Brodziansky. The 6-foot-11 Slovakian is coming off a monster game of his own, ripping through Iowa State for 25 points and 14 rebounds this past weekend.
