At least BJ Penn was rewarded handsomely for his efforts.

The 38-year-old featherweight suffered a brutal beating at the hands of Yair Rodriguez in the main event of UFC Fight Night 103 in Phoenix on Sunday, a bout that was Penn's first since July 2014. Penn was paid $150,000 to show, according to Shaheen Al-Shatti of MMA Fighting, citing salary information from The Arizona Department of Gaming.

Rodriguez entered the contest with considerably less name recognition than Penn, a former lightweight and welterweight champion, and he was paid a disclosed $50,000 to show plus a $50,000 win bonus. The 24-year-old fighter earned an extra $50,000 for picking up a Performance of the Night award.

Also cracking the six-figure mark was 23-fight UFC veteran Joe Lauzon who earned $116,000 ($58,000 to show, $58,000 to win) for his controversial split decision nod over Marcin Held in the evening's co-main event.
