Notre Dame running back Tarean Folston has decided against a fifth season at the school and will enter the 2017 NFL Draft.

The 5-foot-9, 215-pounder confirmed the news to Irish Sports Daily on Monday.

The Florida native burst onto the scene immediately with a solid 470 yards and three touchdowns in his freshman season. He built upon that success for an even better sophomore campaign in 2014, finishing the year with 889 yards rushing and six touchdowns, while also adding 190 yards receiving and a score.

Folston tore his ACL in the opening game of the 2015 season against Texas, missing the remainder of the campaign before returning for the 2016 schedule. He finished his Notre Dame career with 77 carries for 334 yards and two scores this season.

With Folston heading to the NFL, look for Josh Adams, Dexter Williams, and Tony Jones Jr. to share the workload for Brian Kelly's program in 2017.
