Baylor's big recruiting day includes pair of 4-star commits

Ray Carlin / USA TODAY Sports

Matt Rhule continued restocking Baylor with fresh talent on Sunday, as the Bears' new coach hauled in a pair of four-star recruits.

The first significant splash came from center Xavier Newman, while wide receiver Trestan Ebner announced his pledge to the program shortly thereafter.

Ebner, ranked 218th on the ESPN 300, could pay immediate dividends for Rhule, whose program is losing top wideouts KD Cannon and Ish Zamora to the NFL draft.

Baylor now has three four-star prospects en route to Waco, and will look to grow that number before National Signing Day on Feb. 1.

Rhule also landed unranked offensive linemen Eleasah Anderson and Jason Moore on Sunday to beef up a Bears recruiting class that was gutted last year by the program's sexual assault scandal.
