Notre Dame's Quenton Nelson to return for senior season

Notre Dame guard Quenton Nelson will put off his professional aspirations for another year and return to school for his senior campaign, he announced Sunday.

"Excited for this team to grow every day this offseason by putting in nothing but hard work and grinding together," Nelson wrote in an Instagram caption announcing his decision. "When we reach our full potential, look out. I'm right behind you Coach."

Nelson will once again be relied upon to man the left guard spot along the offensive line next season, after he and graduating senior Mike McGlinchey teamed up to form one of the better left sides in the country in 2016.

Had he declared for the NFL draft early, Nelson would've been a potential top-60 pick.
