Wilfork mulling retirement after loss to Patriots

James Lang / USA TODAY Sports

Houston Texans nose tackle Vince Wilfork is considering retirement, following Saturday's loss to the New England Patriots.

Wilfork said he'll take some time before making a firm commitment, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reports.

"I think I have played my last NFL football game," Wilfork said via Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.

Wilfork spent the first 11 years of his career with the Patriots before joining the Texans in March 2015 on a two-year contract. The 35-year-old was selected in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft and was named to the Pro Bowl five times, winning two Super Bowls with the Patriots.

The veteran recorded 21 tackles in 15 games this season.
