Merritt sends thank-you notes to fans after receiving wedding gifts
Ryan Merritt is not only clutch, he's also a very thankful man.
In just his second major-league start, Merritt pitched 4 1/3 shutout innings in Game 5 of the ALCS against the Toronto Blue Jays, sending the Cleveland Indians to the World Series.
Shortly afterwards, fans found out the 24-year-old starter was getting married, and to show him how appreciative they were, the Tribe faithful went out and bought every single gift his fiancee Sarah had on her wedding registry.
What a way to cap this story: Ryan and his fiancรฉe sent thank you notes to Tribe fans who bought gifts off the couple's registry.

Merritt, who is slated to tie the knot next month, decided to thank his fans for their support by sending them all individual thank-you notes on behalf of himself and Sarah.
