Mavericks' Bogut out indefinitely with hamstring strain

Kevin Jairaj / USA TODAY Sports

Injuries continue to plague the Dallas Mavericks this season.

Head coach Rick Carlisle told reporters Saturday that Andrew Bogut will be out for the "foreseeable near future" after suffering a right hamstring strain earlier this week.

After coming over from the Golden State Warriors in the offseason, Bogut has failed to make much of an impact this season, averaging three points and 9.1 rebounds in just 22 contests.

Thanks to a dreadful start to the campaign, the Mavericks sit well out of a playoff spot, tied with the Phoenix Suns for dead last in the Western Conference.

Given Bogut's and the team's struggles, the 7-footer has gone on record saying he wouldn't be surprised to be dealt prior to this year's trade deadline.
