Arbitration deadline roundup: A look at who could be headed to a hearing
Bob DeChiara / USA TODAY Sports
The deadline for teams and players to exchange arbitration figures came at 1 p.m. ET Friday.
While a number of clubs avoided arbitration with their respective players, many did not, and will now face the possibility of going in front of an arbiter. Reminder, all of these players are under team control, the process is only to determine their 2017 salary.
Teams such as the Orioles and Mets follow on the "file and trial" principal, meaning they will pursue a hearing, while other teams could still work out a deal before reaching arbitration.
