Torrance Gibson transferring from Ohio State to Cincinnati

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Torrance Gibson's departure from Ohio State is officially official.

The five-star athlete announced he would be transferring from the school for good in a Twitter post Thursday and will be joining Cincinnati.

Prior to the season, Gibson was suspended by the school and not the football team for a student code of conduct violation, a decision which Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer made it known he disagreed with.

Meyer then made waves in December when he said Gibson's exit wasn't finalized despite the athlete planning to transfer to junior college.

It appears to be final now, as the loss of Gibson is just one more talented player Ohio State will need to replace after losing several more to the NFL draft since being eliminated from the playoff.

Gibson will have a familiar face as his new Bearcats head coach, as Luke Fickell was Ohio State's defense coordinator from 2012-16.
