Report: Lawler leaves American Top Team

Robbie Lawler appears to be in search of a new camp.

The former UFC welterweight champion left vaunted Florida-based gym American Top Team, MMAFighting's Marc Raimondi reported Wednesday. His reasons for parting ways with the camp weren't revealed.

Lawler cut his teeth at Miletich Fighting Systems - founded by former UFC welterweight champ Pat Miletich - before jumping ship to ATT and returning to the Octagon in 2013. "Ruthless" went from streaky slugger to near-world-beater while in the "Sunshine State," winning three straight and five of six before bringing the camp its first taste of UFC gold with a split decision over Johny Hendricks at UFC 181 in December 2014.

Lawler successfully defended the title against Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit before Tyron Woodley ended his reign via first-round knockout at UFC 201. The 34-year-old was expected to meet Donald Cerrone at UFC 205 in New York City this past November, but withdrew from the bout shortly after president Dana White ruled it a go.

The former champ is 12-5 over two separate stints in the UFC and owns a career record of 27-11 with one no-contest.
