Dallas Mavericks small forward Justin Anderson has been fined $25,000 for striking Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Kris Dunn in the head, the league announced Wednesday.
It is the first fine of Anderson's career.
The incident occurred in the second quarter of Monday's contest after Anderson fouled Dunn on a breakaway layup attempt.
Anderson was ejected from the contest, finishing with just two points in five minutes of action.
The 23-year-old has been solid in his second pro season, averaging 7.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.7 assists on 39.4 percent shooting for the 15th-place Mavericks.
