Houston Texans quarterback Tom Savage has cleared through concussion protocol and will return to practice Tuesday, head coach Bill O'Brien announced Monday.

Savage will not start in the divisional round against the New England Patriots despite being cleared. O'Brien announced following Saturday's win over the Oakland Raiders that Brock Osweiler will remain starter.

Osweiler started the Texans' first 14 games before getting benched for Savage due to ineffectiveness.

Savage was the Texans' presumed playoff starter before getting hurt in Week 17, forcing the team to turn its offense back to Osweiler.

Against the Raiders, Osweiler was 14-of-25 passing for 168 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for a touchdown.
