Report: Minnesota to hire Arkansas DC Robb Smith

New Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck has reportedly found his defensive coordinator, settling on Arkansas defensive coordinator Robb Smith, according to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.

Smith was linked to the defensive coordinator vacancy at Wake Forest, but it seems Fleck was able to beat out the Demon Deacons.

The Razorbacks ranked 76th in total defense and 85th in scoring defense in 2016, while Minnesota was 21st in both under fired defensive coordinator Jay Sawvel.
