With a little over a month until players report to spring training, the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox headline the early-season betting favorites to win the 2017 World Series.
The reigning World Series champion Cubs replaced closer Aroldis Chapman and outfielder Dexter Fowler by trading for Wade Davis, while also signing reliever Koji Uehara and outfielder Jon Jay.
The Red Sox, who were swept by the Indians in the ALDS, have also had a highly successful offseason by acquiring ace Chris Sale, reliever Tyler Thornburg, and first baseman Mitch Moreland to replace the outgoing Uehara, Clay Buchholz, and David Ortiz.
