Spieth's bogey-free 65 provides momentum heading into Hawaiian Open

Jordan Spieth can blame three bad holes for failing to be in contention at the Tournament of Champions.

Spieth led the field in birdies this week with 26, but two doubles and a triple-bogey prevented him from defending his title at Kapalua.

On Sunday, Spieth was meticulous firing a bogey-free 65, which included eight birdies and 10 pars and tied for the low round of the week.

"Very satisfying, I had five over par holes on each day the last two days that really kind of took my chances away," said Spieth. "But to come back and finish strong today, top 10 maybe even top five finish with some significant mistakes, I certainly take a lot of confidence off this round going into next week."

Spieth now travels to O'ahu to tee it up at the Hawaiian Open in an event and track he's only played once, but likes where his mind and game is at heading into the week.

"I feel very confident heading over to a golf course that I've only played once, I missed the cut at the event but I think it's a really good golf course that fits my game well."
