Look: Zlatan's offside goal highlights controversial United victory

New year, same Zlatan - in more ways than one.

Manchester United secured a contentious 2-0 win over West Ham on Monday, the Red Devils getting second-half goals from Juan Mata and Ibrahimovic, but the club's sixth consecutive Premier League triumph wasn't without controversy. Plenty of it, in fact.

The Hammers were harshly reduced to 10 men after Sofiane Feghouli was shown a straight red card in the 15th minute for a challenge on Phil Jones, and to make matters worse for Slaven Bilic, the goal that cemented United's win stood thanks to a blatant error by the assistant referee.

Already up 1-0, Ibrahimovic continued his fine form with a rasping low strike in the 78th minute, but replays showed he was clearly offside after the ball bounced to him off Ander Herrera.

The free-scoring Swede, never far from controversy because of his penchant for colourful comments, now sits second in the Premier League on 13 goals, one shy of Chelsea stud Diego Costa.
