Jake Roth / USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Cubs reportedly agreed to minor-league deals with right-handed reliever Fernando Rodriguez and infielder Jemile Weeks on Saturday, according to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish.

Rodriguez spent the last three seasons with the Oakland Athletics. The 32-year-old posted a 4.20 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 37 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings. He held right-handed hitters to a .158/.229/.221 slash line in 105 plate appearances, though lefties teed off on him, hitting .313/.421/.542 in 58 plate appearances.

Weeks has bounced around the past four seasons, seeing stops with the Athletics, Orioles, Red Sox, and Padres. The 29-year-old younger brother of Rickie Weeks, Jemile hit .140/.204/.300 with two extra-base hits and 14 strikeouts in 17 games with San Diego last season. While primarily a second baseman at the major-league level, Weeks also has experience at shortstop, third base, and in the outfield.
