New Jersey governor rips Yankees for Chapman's $86M contract

Chris Christie doesn't think it will take long before the New York Yankees regret the mammoth contract they gave Aroldis Chapman.

Appearing on WFAN's "Boomer and Carton" radio program Tuesday, the governor of New Jersey had some harsh criticism for what he called "wasted funds" by the Bronx Bombers.

"Let me tell you this," Christie said, according to NJ.com's Joe Giglio. "You want to talk about wasted funds? Get ready for Year 3 of that Aroldis Chapman contract. You remember the way he looked in Game 7 of the Word Series? Let me tell you something: Year 3 - that will be every day. Every day.

"What a stupid deal! Five years for $86 million for Aroldis Chapman. Are you getting me? You kidding me?"

It's important to note, however, that Christie is a renowned Mets fan, so the politician could just be throwing some major shade at his team's crosstown rivals.
