Notre Dame lands 4-star OT Aaron Banks

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Notre Dame scored a big win on the recruiting trail Friday, as four-star offensive tackle Aaron Banks committed to the Fighting Irish during a ceremony at his high school.

The massive 6-foot-7, 344-pound mauler is ranked as the 28th best offensive tackle in the country, and is listed as the 282nd overall prospect in the ESPN 300.

His addition will immediately give head coach Brian Kelly an anchor on the offensive line, helping to shore up a unit that struggled in 2016. Banks chose the Fighting Irish over offers from other Power 5 programs such as Oregon, Michigan, Florida, Miami, USC, and Washington.
