Ronaldo's agency reveals €203M in assets amid tax allegations

Cristiano Ronaldo held foreign assets last year totaling €203 million, a financial statement published by his agency shows.

GestiFute released Ronaldo's fiscal record for 2015 in a bid to end allegations over tax evasion.

Twelve newspapers based allegations that Ronaldo hid tens of millions of pounds in a tax haven on documents leaked by a rogue source.

GestiFute client Jose Mourinho was also named in the reports, prompting head agent Jorge Mendes to announce the Portuguese manager had paid more than €26 million in taxes during his time as Real Madrid manager.

Ronaldo similarly shrugged off the media charges earlier this week. In quotes reported by Portuguese TV station RTP, Ronaldo said, "You believe I am worried? He who owes nothing, fears nothing."

GestiFute said in a separate statement Thursday that neither Ronaldo nor his representatives will make any further comment. Their belief is that he's now proven his innocence beyond any doubt.

"As reported in recent days, the player has been aware of his tax obligations right away from the beginning of his career in all of the countries in which he has resided and has not and has never had any issue with the tax authorities of any of those countries," read the statement, as translated by the Guardian's Ed Aarons.

"This communication, which was not required by law, constitutes irrefutable proof that Cristiano Ronaldo and his representatives are in good faith and co-operate with the authorities in a spirit of transparency and compliance with legality."
