Kidd: LeBron's bottle flip was 'maybe making a point'

What better way to fight boredom during a blowout win than a good old-fashioned bottle flip challenge?

As the minutes ticked down Wednesday in the Cavaliers' 126-94 drubbing of the New York Knicks, Cleveland starters LeBron James and Kyrie Irving decided to see who could successfully flip a bottle. It seemed like harmless fun during the closing moments of a game that had already been decided, but Milwaukee Bucks coach Jason Kidd saw it as a little bit more than that.

"There’s a time and place for everything and I think the team that was maybe doing it did it with a purpose," Kidd told "The Dan Patrick Show" on Thursday.

Kidd added, "I think there was a purpose behind it. I would have to ask LeBron, but I think he was maybe making a point."

Asked whether that point was with Knicks president Phil Jackson, Kidd laughed and said, "With someone."

Whether this little game was indeed a parting shot from James or just a bunch of goofballs at the end of the bench trying to kill time until the game was over, one thing's clear - James and Irving really need to work on their flipping skills.
