Report: Falcons optimistic Jones will play vs. Rams

Dale Zanine / USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Falcons are optimistic wideout Julio Jones will play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams despite a lingering toe injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Jones missed some snaps in Week 13 because of the injury, but has suggested the ailment is minor in nature.

Jones didn't practice Wednesday, but is expected to get in at least a limited session before Sunday's game. In the past, the three-time Pro Bowler has played despite not being very involved at practice.

The Falcons are less optimistic about receiver Mohamed Sanu's availability, according to Schefter. Sanu has a groin injury and has yet to practice this week.
