With an upgrade needed in the starting rotation, the Seattle Mariners could be close to finding their guy.
The team is discussing a trade to acquire right-hander Chris Heston from the San Francisco Giants, according to Jon Morosi of FOX Sports.
Heston, who is most known for throwing a no-hitter against the New York Mets, played only four games in the majors in 2016, posting a 10.80 ERA in five innings. His best and only season in the majors was in 2015 when he posted a 12-11 record with a 3.95 ERA in 31 starts.
The Mariners have been on the hunt for a starter since dealing Taijuan Walker to the Arizona Diamondbacks for Jean Segura.
