In the end, it worked out how most expected.

Juventus, favoured to claim top spot in Group H, did just that on Wednesday, a 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb securing progression to the Champions League knockout stages as one of the top seeds.

Goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani were enough for the Bianconeri, who will now await their fate in next week's draw.

Sevilla, meanwhile, joined the Old Lady in the last-16, holding on for a goalless draw against Lyon to pip the French side to second place.

The host side, needing a victory by two goals to overtake the Spanish club, pushed hard for the win; Corentin Tolisso and Mathieu Valbuena both struck the crossbar.

In the end, however, the mesh behind Sergio Rico was never rippled, meaning Jorge Sampaoli's men will, after years of being relegated to the Europa League, finally be in the knockout stages of Europe's premier competition.
