Michigan linebacker Jabrill Peppers has been named the 2016 Paul Hornung Award winner, as the nation's most versatile player.

Peppers played 933 snaps this season; 726 on defense, 154 on special teams, and 53 on offense. In all, Peppers played 15 positions.

On defense, Peppers finished second on the team with 72 tackles and third in the Big Ten with 16 tackles-for-loss. He also added four sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble.

In the return game, the sophomore ranked fourth in the FBS in punt return average (14.8 yards), adding a touchdown, while also having 10 kickoff returns for 260 yards.

Offensively, Peppers carried the ball 27 times for 167 yards, with three touchdowns and two receptions.

Peppers became the first player in Big Ten history to win three individual season awards, receiving the Defensive Player, Linebacker, and Return Specialist of the Year honors.

The do-it-all player is the first Michigan player to win the award, beating out finalists Christian McCaffrey (Stanford), Adoree Jackson (USC), and Dede Westbrook (Oklahoma).
