The Buffalo Bills placed wide receiver Percy Harvin on the reserve/non-football injury list Monday, ending his season.

Harvin rejoined the Bills after a brief retirement and played in Weeks 9 and 11, catching two passes and handling one rushing attempt, but the migraines that have plagued him earlier in his career returned and the veteran sat out the Bills' last two games.

Harvin will not play again this year and it's fair to question whether he ever will again.

"He was doing whatever he could to try to play, but I don't know if that was in his best interest," head coach Rex Ryan said of the decision to shut Harvin down. "We were trying to make sure he's well."

If Harvin never plays again, he will be remembered best for an electric performance with the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII that included an 87-yard kickoff return touchdown.

He will also be remembered for the migraines and string of injuries that limited him throughout his eight-year career. Only once over that span did Harvin play all 16 games, and several years he played fewer than 10.
