Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas missed the first game of his seven-year career due to injury last week, and he did so in disguise.

Thomas told Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times that he watched the game with his family at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Portland, Ore., wearing a hoodie and glasses so he wouldn't be recognized.

Thomas said he blew his cover because he was so invested in the game.

"I was into it," he said. "You can’t be silent. You can't hide when you are openly passionate about something like this. People knew who I was but they kind of let me be. But it was definitely hard watching it."

With Thomas sidelined, the Seahawks lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14-5. The five-time All-Pro is expected to return to the lineup this week.
