Vikings' Diggs, Newman return for TNF vs. Cowboys

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs and cornerback Terence Newman are officially active for Thursday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys, each returning to the lineup after sitting out last week with injuries.

Diggs missed Minnesota's Thanksgiving Day loss to the Detroit Lions with a knee issue, while Newman was inactive due to a neck ailment.

Both took part in a limited capacity during Monday's team session before being upgraded to full participation by the end of the practice week, creating an expectation that they would indeed return.

Diggs, who tallied 67 receptions for 747 yards and two touchdowns across his first nine games, should be quick to regain his role as Sam Bradford's top target in the passing game.

Newman's return to slot duties is a similarly important upgrade on the other side of the ball, as he remains one of the Vikings' top cover men now in the midst of his 14th NFL season.
