Michigan State's Bridges out at least 2 weeks with ankle injury

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan State star freshman Miles Bridges will miss a minimum of two weeks with an injured ankle, head coach Tom Izzo told reporters on Thursday, as per Kyle Austin of MLive.com.

Bridges, who is currently in a walking boot, is the latest in a slew of injuries for the Spartans frontcourt, with Ben Carter and Gavin Schilling yet to suit up this season.

The 6-foot-7, 230-pounder was one of the top recruits in the country, and is already the focal point of the Spartans attack this season. He is averaging 16.6 points and 8.8 rebounds in the young campaign.

Bridges' injury will certainly rouse the attention of NBA scouts, as he is currently listed as the 14th overall prospect by DraftExpress for the 2017 NBA Draft.
