Report: Blue Jays interested in Mets' Granderson

The Toronto Blue Jays appear to have eyes on more than one New York Mets outfielder.

Having already been linked with slugger Jay Bruce as a possible trade target, the Blue Jays are also reportedly interested in New York's other left-handed hitting outfielder, Curtis Granderson, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

Granderson, who will make $15 million in 2017, could be a fit atop the Blue Jays' lineup. Though the 35-year-old's on-base percentage dipped by nearly 30 points in 2016, he still hit 30 home runs and provided the Mets with a stable presence in the outfield for over 150 games. The Blue Jays would also likely be attracted by his left-handed bat, which would be a welcome addition to the team's predominantly right-handed lineup.

Finding another left-handed outfield bat has been a priority for the Blue Jays, who have already been connected to the left-handed Bruce, as well as switch-hitting free agent Dexter Fowler.

New York is reportedly looking to deal one or both of Granderson and Bruce after re-signing Yoenis Cespedes to a four-year, $110-million deal on Wednesday; Cespedes' return gives the team a surplus of corner outfielders, likely necessitating a trade.

Granderson is said to be receiving more interest from other teams than Bruce.
