Eagles' Matthews has sprained ankle, expected to face Bengals

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said Tuesday that X-rays on Jordan Matthews' right ankle came back negative, and the wide receiver is expected to play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Andy Schwartz of CSNPhilly.com.

Matthews left Monday's loss to the Green Bay Packers, but Pederson said the receiver just suffered a minor ankle sprain and will sit out Wednesday's practice as a precaution.

Guard Brandon Brooks is also expected to face the Bengals, after he was a late scratch Monday due to illness.

"Everything checked out fine with him (Brooks), so we'll get him back and working this week and get him back in there," Pederson said. "He'll be fine."
