It's probably time to talk about Arkansas' problems under Bielema

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

It's becoming glaringly obvious after four seasons with Arkansas that Wisconsin made Bret Bielema, and not the other way around.

In seven seasons with the Badgers, Bielema compiled a very impressive 68-24 record, and then shocked the college football world by announcing he was leaving the Big Ten program for the greener pastures of the SEC.

In the four seasons since Bielema made the move to the Razorbacks, the program is 25-25 with an awful 10-22 record in the SEC. The latest setback was a 28-24 loss to a struggling Missouri team in the final game on the schedule for 2016.

Wisconsin, on the other hand? The Badgers hired Gary Andersen to replace the gregarious coach and immediately went 9-4 and 11-3 in two seasons.

Wisconsin would then see another coach leave in a surprise move, as Andersen decided to take the Oregon State job, leaving Paul Chryst to take over in Madison.

New body, new voice, same old Badgers. Wisconsin went 10-3 in Chryst's first season and sits 9-2 with another Big Ten West title likely on the way Saturday. That makes Wisconsin's record in the four years since Bielema left an impressive 39-12.

Had Bobby Petrino not crashed his motorcycle, he'd likely still be the Razorbacks head coach, as the offensive whiz posted a 34-17 mark in four seasons with the program. John L. Smith struggled to a 4-8 mark in the transition season between Petrino and Bielema.

Bielema is one of the more popular coaches in the SEC thanks to his hilarious postgame comments that seem to happen on a weekly basis, but how much leeway will that get you when the team isn't performing?

After another disappointing season in Fayetteville, it appears we're about to find out.
