Broncos' Siemian out vs. Jaguars; Paxton Lynch to start

Jonathan Dyer / USA TODAY Sports

Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after missing his third straight practice due to a foot injury, head coach Gary Kubiak announced Friday, according to Cameron Wolfe of The Denver Post.

First-round pick Paxton Lynch will start in his place.

Kubiak said Siemian is still wearing a walking boot on his foot, but he'll travel with the team to Jacksonville, according to Andrew Mason of the Broncos' official site.

Lynch will make his second start after replacing Siemian for the Week 5 tilt against the Atlanta Falcons. The rookie pivot was solid in that game, but poor decision-making and struggles throwing deep limited the Broncos' offense.

"Paxton is working really hard. I'm really proud of how far he's come," said Kubiak, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post.

Kubiak insisted Siemian hadn't suffered a setback, according to Jhabvala, so it appears the second-year passer will have a good chance of returning in Week 14.
