Joe Thomas Sr. enrolled at South Carolina State with the intention of playing with his son Joe Thomas Jr., who is now a linebacker with the Green Bay Packers. The dream never came to fruition, but it did lead to some history being made four years later.

Thomas Sr. finally got into a game Saturday on Senior Day, picking up three yards on a run in the first quarter against Savannah State.

The play meant the 55-year-old is now the oldest player to play D-1 football.
