Lawson: Kings aren't serious about practice

Despite undergoing a plethora of moves this offseason, the Sacramento Kings once again looked destined for another disappointing year in California's capital.

Through 12 games, the Kings sit just 11th in the West with a 4-8 record, while ranking 21st in the NBA in net rating. And although the team's struggles can be attributed to a number of factors, Ty Lawson says Sacramento's lack of focus in practice is the main reason for the Kings' dismal start.

"Shootarounds, we don't take them serious," Lawson told csnbayarea.com. "Nobody takes them serious. So, we do the same thing, even 5-on-0. Our pace is the way we play in the game. So, if you want to change that, we've got to change it with ourselves. It's got to be important to you."

After jumping out to a respectable 4-5 start, the Kings have fallen off considerably of late, surrendering nearly 108 points per game over their last three contests. Things also won't be getting any easier, as Sacramento's next three opponents are all against teams currently in playoff positions.
